Will Palmer set for Monaco Grand Prix support this weekend

Will Palmer will resume his Formula Renault Eurocup championship charge with a supporting appearance at the Monaco Grand Prix event this weekend (27-28 July), in two races, with one each on Saturday and Sunday.

Will heads to the streets of the principality amidst a great run of form, following an enormously positive start to his second Eurocup season with the R-ace GP team, in which he has won twice, and finished every race in the top-four. This weekend marks the end of a hectic three-week schedule for the BRDC Superstar, during which he won a race at his home round at Silverstone, before showing well at the French street circuit of Pau with two fourth-place finishes in preparation for this weekend.

As a result of his recent showings, will is well positioned in the championship battle, lying second overall, just one point adrift of Russian racer Robert Shwartzman. Indeed, the 20-year-old's performances are even more impressive when you consider the quality of the opposition he has been up against, which includes a number of Formula Renault race-winners and FIA Formula 4 champions.

This will be the second time that the Sussex driver has raced at Grand Prix racing's crown jewel event, after he achieved a top-ten result in the single Eurocup race held in Monaco last year. This year, Will has two opportunities to impress, including an outing on Sunday morning, ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix itself.

Will said: "I'm massively looking forward to racing in Monaco this weekend. It's an amazing opportunity for us to race at such a legendary track, especially on Grand Prix weekend. We don't have a huge amount of track time so it will be important to get down to pace quickly in practice to set myself up for a good qualifying and race."
