Eighth fastest for Will in final pre-season test
Will Palmer ended the final pre-season Formula Renault 2.0 test at Motorland Aragon in Spain eighth quickest, after another strong day of running. The 19-year-old will return to the same circuit for the opening round of the 2016 Formula Renault Eurocup championship next weekend (16/17 April), and will be in good spirits after another fine performance from the rookie.
After finishing yesterday's (7 April) running eighth quickest overall and the fifth fastest rookie, Will continued his good pace into the final morning session on the demanding 3.3-mile circuit and improved on his best lap from yesterday. A time of 1m55.663s again put him eighth quickest overall as Lando Norris continued to set the pace.
Will, who will drive for the renowned French outfit R-ACE GP in both Eurocup and Northern European Cup this season, didn't do much running in the first half of the afternoon session but when he hit the track, his pace was still good enough to mix it near the top of the timing screens. With conditions meaning his lap was slightly slower than the morning, his personal best in the session was a 1m56.401s, which put him 10th in the afternoon. However, due to the slower times after lunch, he ended eighth fastest overall for the day.
